Ofensiva Volvo – Motoare pe benzina cu trei cilindri si pana la 180 CP

Volvo continua sa inoveze, iar ultima noutate venita din zona scandinava face referire la un viitor propulsor pe benzina de 1,5 litri cu trei cilindri. Acesta va face parte din gama Drive-E si va sosi in mai multe versiune de puterea, cea mai potenta urmand sa livreze 180 CP.

In prezent, propulsoarele se afla in stadiul de dezvoltare, iar testele de verificari au demarat in cadrul companiei. Pentru moment, noile unitati Drive-E cu trei cilindri sunt dezvoltate cu gandul la platforma CMA, dar vor putea fi integrate si pe modelele S60 si V60.

Pentru ca tacamul sa fie complet, Volvo spune ca noile propulsoare vor respecta normele de poluare Euro 7.

„Partea frumoasa a acestui program este aceea ca unitatea cu 3 cilindri poate fi produsa pe aceeasi linie pe care fabricam motoarele cu 4 cilindri, oferind astfel flexibilitate maxima”, a declarat Dr. Peter Mertens, vice presedinte senior in cadrul departamentului de dezvoltare si cercetare.

Eu v-am spus ca tot la motor de Smart se va ajunge

Volvo doar se aliniaza in rand cu ceilalti competitori. Audi are de ceva timp motoare in 3 cilindri pe benzina. Mai exact A1 este echipat cu motor 1.0 TFSI in 3 cilindri. Vw la fel cu polo.. Mini la fel.

Singura diferenta este data de emisiile de noxe ce incadreaza masina la clasa Euro 7

A jury of eight WardsAuto editors tested 38 competing engines throughout October and November this year during their daily commutes in and around Detroit. The tested engines were awarded points based on horsepower, torque, drivability, noise mitigation, flexibility, observed fuel economy and on-board technology.

The Drive-E T5, a turbocharged 4-cylinder, combines Brake Energy Regeneration, Start/Stop, ECO+ Technology and a smooth eight-speed Geartronic automatic transmission to great effect on this front-wheel drive model, returning 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

“We are very pleased to receive this award for our 4-cylinder Drive-E engine. It is further proof, if required, that 4-cylinder turbocharged engines are the perfect solution for the majority of today’s driving needs. We have worked hard to deliver the perfect balance between performance and efficiency, whilst ensuring a dynamic, yet comfortable ride,” said Michael Fleiss, Vice President, Powertrain at Volvo Car Group.

The award comes hot on the heels of the formal announcement by Volvo Cars that they are also developing a 3-cylinder gasoline engine for their future small and medium car models.
